ABOUT

Dr. Cathy Gustafson, DPA, is a senior leader with a proven 30-year track record in the corporate and higher education sectors, business consulting, and working with international business executives. Most recently, Gustafson has trained these clients in Business English and cultural competency to help them achieve more effective communications when working with global partners. As an educator, consultant, writer, and trainer, she has extensive experience in curriculum and course development, strategic planning, writing, research, and leadership support.

 

She has addressed complex business issues in these organizations with insight and the expertise gained from her extensive business acumen.

Before teaching in higher education, Gustafson spent 15 years in the corporate sector, working in areas such as marketing, communications, and product branding (3M Company, Control Data, Emerson Electric). Her consulting career included working with clients on nonprofit management issues, program development, strategic planning, and leadership support.

Gustafson holds both a doctorate in public administration and a master’s degree in public policy from Hamline University.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
